THE STORY OF PANETTONE
Legend has it that a wealthy Milanese gentleman fell in love with a baker’s daughter.
In trying to impress the baker he suggested he create something amazing using raisins, candied fruit, sugar and eggs. The baker created a delicious golden fruit bread with the suggested ingredients.

The baker’s name was Tony, and Tony’s bread ( Pane di Tonio ) became so popular in Milan that the baker found fame and fortune and the wealthy Milanese gentleman found love and married the baker’s daughter.
